THE 69.3 metre mid-water trawler-purser Lunar Bow (PD 265) has taken 1100 tonnes of mackerel in a 48-hour maiden trip from Peterhead, Scotland, reports David Linkie.
Lunar Bow, skippered by Alex Buchan and David Stephen, was handed over by builder Simek of Norway on December 12 after completing fishing trials. She will be targeting seasonal western mackerel, Atlanto-Scandian/North Sea herring and blue whiting fisheries.
Lunar Bow’s catches will usually be landed at Peterhead to Lunar Freezing, as the owners have their own catching, processing and marketing operation.
