Marit van der Heijden holds a Master’s degree in global business and stakeholder management. She joined Anova Seafood in 2014 after several sustainability roles and has gone a long way in strengthening the integrity and transparency of Anova Seafood's supply chains.
IntraFish Media: How did you enter the seafood industry and why? What drew you to it as a career?
Marit van der Heijden: The dynamics and broad opportunities drew me to the seafood industry: the global presence and challenges, a natural food product and the conservation of its resources, consumer transparency and health, the many livelihoods that depend on the industry.
