Beginning her career as general manager of Clearwater Seafoods in Canada, Naomi Matthews held positions at several large supermarkets, including Sobeys and Woolworths before landing herself a role in the Australian retail giant Coles.
IntraFish: How did you enter the seafood industry and why? What drew you to it as a career?
Naomi Matthews: Money! Growing up in a fishing community in Nova Scotia, Canada, I aspired to be a lawyer; the last thing I wanted was to be in the seafood business.
