Working for a beacon of sustainable seafood production, Lamprecht has been a driving force in demonstrating how aquaculture, and food production in general, can be run as a successful, profitable business while also supporting and enriching poorer rural communities.
IntraFish: How did you enter the seafood industry and why? What drew you to it as a career?
Magdalena Lamprecht Wallhoff: Though I grew up around our fish farms in Indonesia, I did not expect to enter the fish industry myself. I pursued global public health and had planned to work internationally.
